A New Chapter

In the grand library of the human experience, there's a room filled with unwritten books. They're the ones we always meant to write, the ones we've drafted in our heads during quiet moments or sleepless nights. They're the stories we believe only we can tell, the lessons only we can teach, and the perspectives only we can offer. Well, today, I'm choosing to write one of those books. Today, I'm choosing to start this journal.

We live in an age of unprecedented access to knowledge, but there's a vast difference between information and understanding. Information is knowing that water boils at 100 degrees Celsius; understanding is knowing why that's important when you're making a cup of tea. I've spent over two decades in the design and tech industry, and I've seen the good, the bad, and the unexpected. I've witnessed trends come and go, technologies rise and fall, and ideas blossom and wither. And in the process, I've gained a perspective that's uniquely mine.

There's an inherent joy in sharing what you've learned. When you've been around the block a few times, you start to see the patterns, the common pitfalls, the oft-repeated mistakes. And there's a part of you that wants to help others avoid those same missteps. This journal is my attempt to do just that. If I can help even one person navigate this fast-paced, ever-changing industry a little more smoothly, then every word will be worth it.

The tech and design community has given me so much over the years - inspiration, opportunities, friendships, and a sense of purpose. It's a community that thrives on the free exchange of ideas, on collaboration, and on pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Through this journal, I hope to contribute to that ongoing conversation, to offer my own ideas and insights, and to engage with others who share a similar passion.

In the process of putting words to my thoughts, I expect to find something else as well - clarity. Writing, in many ways, is thinking made visible. It forces us to articulate our ideas, to examine them from different angles, and to refine them. It's a process of discovery, of learning, and of self-reflection. I look forward to embarking on this journey, to learning as much as I teach, and to growing as much as I contribute.

In a more personal vein, this journal is also a legacy for my son. As he embarks on his own journey into the world of design and tech, I hope these words serve as a beacon, a guide, and a testament to the love and pride I have for him. These musings, lessons, and insights are my way of standing by his side, even when I can't physically be there.

As I step into this world of writing, I'm not doing it alone. I'm bringing with me a curiosity for technology and a fascination with machine learning. In the days to come, I hope to explore how these tools can aid my writing process, lending a helping hand in organizing my thoughts, generating ideas, and refining my prose. After all, what better way to embrace the spirit of the tech industry than to experiment, innovate, and adapt?

This journal is a beginning, a new chapter in a story that's been two decades in the making. It's a chance to share, to connect, to learn, and to grow. And I can't wait to see where it takes me...

Get in touch.
